Actor, Writer, Theatre-maker
Alicia is a Singaporean-Chinese stage actor, writer and theatre-maker. Born to a Malaysian Mother and raised in Singapore, Alicia has grown to become a collaborative artist that steers her practice towards intercultural and interdisciplinary works. Her research interests include Interculturalism and human-animal studies in Theatre.
Alicia received her formal acting training from LASALLE College of the Arts in BA (Hons) Acting. She furthered her training at Shanghai Theatre Academy’s Peking Opera Summer School in 2019. Prior to LASALLE, she trained at Buds Youth Theatre and 10Square’s Arts Incubation Programme.
Beyond Acting, Alicia has dabbled in stage-managing, directing and playwriting. Her first written script Frozen was staged twice, at Buds Theatre and in the Singapore Drama Educators Association Conference in 2017. Alicia was a selected participant of Haresh Sharma's playwriting programme in 2018. Moving forward, she aspires to write Singaporean plays that speak to people truthfully.
Ultimately, Singapore will always be where Alicia returns to after her wanderlust, artistic ventures. She is invested in contributing to Singapore’s Education System through Theatre. A continuous learner in the Arts and beyond, Alicia believes the best stories are told only from the heart of one; and she is ready to do so with every opportunity she gets.
